Dallas, TX…Dallas Summer Musicals, Inc., presented by Bank, the largest producer of live theatrical entertainment in the Southwest, has named Gary Griffith, local businessman and civic leader, Chairman of the Board of Directors for 2010. Griffith took over as Board Chairman at the DSM board’s annual meeting in December 2009.

Griffith is President of the Today Foundation, an organization whose mission is to positively impact the lives of young people through drug abuse prevention, character development and education initiatives for at-risk youth. Because of his involvement with the foundation (www.TodayFoundation.org), Griffith says he has a special interest in the Stage Right program created by Dallas Summer Musicals in partnership with the Dallas Police Department, to help bring at-risk students to the shows.

Michael Jenkins, President and Managing Director of Dallas Summer Musicals, said,

“We are extremely fortunate to have a leader of Gary Griffith’s caliber coming in as Chairman of the DSM board for our important 70th anniversary season. Griffith has a special passion for this community as demonstrated by his exemplary service over the past 30 years.”
